  • What is LEAD2018?
    Here, we'll give you the breakdown.

    LEAD2018 is an international platform designed to inspire every individual to make the world a better place. The 2018 event will encompass three components:
    1. A live broadcast from Salt Lake City on February 7th
    2. 12 workshops and 50+ roundtables on leadership best practices for senior leadership professionals (VPS of HR & CLOs) 
    3. The prestigious LEAD awards on the night of Feb 8th
    LEAD2018 exists to share powerful leadership stories from hand-selected world thought leaders who inspire others to also choose leadership as their destiny.

    How: LEAD2018 starts by assembling some of the world's top leaders to inspire others with simple stories, encouraging them to take everyday leadership actions to create a better world. These stories will be broadcast live globally to Chambers of Commerce, Schools, Corporations, Associations and Non-profit Organizations who will also add their own localized leadership content. These stories will be captured and shared on our YouTube channel and made available in every country.
  • Why do we need a global leadership commitment?
    Leadership is an art and a skill that needs continual practice and improvement. However, the majority of the population never receives formal leadership training. Of those that do, the average age of someone who takes first time leadership training is 42, and 94% of the training learned is forgotten and never applied in everyday life. We are trying to ingrain this into your lifestyle to perform on a daily basis. Access to great thought leaders and high quality leadership education is often expensive and hard to access. The focus of LEAD2018 is to make high quality, engaging thought leaders and their inspirational messages available to the masses efficiently and cost-effectively. Everyone needs the motivation to make a difference and help understanding how they can make leadership a conscious choice.
  • When and where will LEAD2018 take place?
    The live LEAD2018 event will take place February 7th & 8th in Salt Lake City, Utah at The Grand America Hotel.
  • Who attends LEAD2018?
    LEAD2018 is not just for HR professionals. Everyone is capable of being a leader! 
    • Remote Sites: LEAD2018 is open to everyone. Schools, Clubs, Nonprofit entities, Chambers of Commerce, Business Leaders and whoever else. Many of the remote sites are themed to address different communities of interests.
    • Salt Lake City: The leaders who attend the Salt Lake City site are very senior leadership professionals.
  • What's a simulcast?
    The speakers will all be on stage in Sale Lake City, but we want people from all over the world to be able to see them- without having to come. A simulcast is a live streaming broadcast of the event to various locations across the world. It's a convenient and cost-effective way for the majority of people to experience LEAD2018. You can accept a simulcast into any facility that has to high speed access. And it's super easy!
  • How many people will be at my local event?
    Each local event is run by a partner. The total capacity of their site is available on the registration site. Capacity varies from location to location.
  • Is there an age minimum for LEAD2018?
    No, inspiring leaders starts at any age group. Last year's youngest speaker was only 9 years old.
  • Is there a dress code?
    Please use your judgment. Business casual is acceptable everywhere. Bikinis or gowns, not so much. Of course, this year's LEAD Award's will be formal.
  • Do I need to wear my badge throughout the entire LEAD2018 conference?
    Yes, your conference badge is required for entry into the conference. Please be aware that you will be asked for valid photo identification at registration before receiving a conference badge.
  • What is the common language spoken at LEAD2018?
    The official language of the conference is English, and all keynotes will be presented in English. Translation services will not be provided. If you elect to bring your own translator, please contact the registration support team.
  • What are the registration fees for the event?
    All information regarding registration, including pricing, inclusion and terms can be found on the LEAD website.
  • Is there a deadline for registration?
    No, you can register online through the last day of the conference as long as there is space, however, there are discounts for early registration.
  • What methods of payment do you accept for LEAD2018 registration?
    When registering, you may pay by credit card, PayPal, cheque, invoice or wire transfer. Payment must be received prior to the conference to print a conference badge on-site. 
  • Are guests permitted to attend?
    We only wish this event could be a free-for-all. All conference attendees are required to register in full.
  • Can I get copies of the material presented at the conference?
    Yes. All of the sessions will be available through the Event App and will be reinforced after the event with the Personal Excellence App. In addition, each participant will receive a printed event journal- a little keepsake to remember us by.

  • How many people attended the conference last year?
    Last year there were 250 people at the event and thousands world wide remotely.
  • How many people will be at the Salt Lake City Event?
    At last year's planning session we elected to keep the Salt Lake City event very exclusive and high end. By doing so, we've made scoring a ticket to this event very difficult if you haven't got any rank and pull (our CEO likes fine red wine, however). Choosing a destination such as the The Grand America Hotel, Salt Lake City means we have limited capacity. As such we can only accommodate 450 people.
  • Are accommodations included with a ticket to the LEAD2018 Ticket?
    No, your ticket does not include accommodation, but we can guarantee that beauty sleep will be required. We suggest booking hotels in Sale Lake City close to the venue for February 7th - The Grand America Hotel, 555 Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84101, USA.
  • How will tickets be delivered to me?
    Let's face it, snail mail is dead. All ticketing will be completed online through our event registration website and you can print your tickets/confirmation from home. Simply check in at the registration desk and get your swag.
  • Are the tickets refundable?
    No, sorry. Space in Salt Lake City is limited to only pre-approved guests. This isn't a cattle call, so unless we can pull someone from the waiting list, you are responsible for the full meal deal.
  • Is there reserved seating?
    Maybe, but probably not. We are looking at some celebrity dinners for your VIP's but have yet to work out the details. Check back often!
  • Will there be food and beverages? And what if I have special dietary needs?
    Do you prefer to photograph your food or eat it? Is the bread basket worth the carbs? One glass of wine versus four? These are all questions you will have to think about at LEAD2018, considering there will be copious amounts of food (included). But of course you should tell us of any special meal requirements when you register- there will be a spot for this, so please don't fret.
  • What is included in my registration fee?
    Your registration fee for a Full Conference Pass entitles you to the following:

  • What is the address of The Grand America Hotel?

  • Should I bring my laptop, camera, audio recorder or camcorder?
    Yes. We'll have wireless at the conference, and lots of power, and you can record and film to your heart's content (no flash photography during the sessions, please). Fortunately, everything that happens in Salte Lake City does not stay in Salt Lake City.
  • Is The Grand America Hotel ADA compliant?
    Yes, their intention is to provide all reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities to assist them in attending events held at the hotel.
  • Where do I pick up my badge?
    We will have a LEAD2018 registration desk that you won't be able to miss. There you will see a combination of the most gorgeous, and handsome faces you've ever laid eyes on (us). We will gladly give you your badge during the registration hours.
  • Do I need to give a credit card to reserve my hotel room?
    Yes, a credit card will be needed to confirm your reservation.


  • Who should run a remote broadcast site?
    1. An Association / Chamber of Commerce looking to

      • Bring High Quality  Speakers and Inspiration to their members

  • How to apply to be a remote site?
    It is free to apply to bring LEAD2018 to your community, association, corporation or school. All applications will be considered equally. Applications are completed online by clicking on the LEAD Remote Application and additional details can be found by simply filling out the request form. In order to become an official LEAD2018 site, you will need to sign a Remote Host Agreement. You will also be assigned an internal contact at who will work with you as your dedicated account rep to ensure you are successful. Apply to become a Host Site
  • What are the financial terms and the risks of being a broadcast site?
    We have tried to keep this as simple as possible. You secure a location, complete our technology test, buy as many tickets you think you can sell (see Ticket Rate Schedule on Host Page), and then market the tickets to your local market at a price you set.
  • Can I make money doing this?
    Yes, after you purchase the tickets from us, you can resell them at any fee you like. In addition, you can sell local sponsorships and keep all that revenue.
  • What is the minimum number of tickets that a host site must purchase?
    There is a 25 ticket minimum commitment. The more you buy the cheaper it is per person.
  • What if I just want to broadcast this to my employees?
    Perfect! In this case you need to determine how many locations and how many people per location. After all we can't have 150 people showing up to the meeting room that only fits 50. Once you have confirmed that each location can "watch a YouTube" video, you use the same registration process (Eventbrite) to track how many people are in each location, and we can provision support material to help them get the most out of the LEAD2017 experience.
  • How do I know if I can take a Satellite Feed / or High Speed Internet into my facility?
    We haven't yet found a site that can't do this, but then again no one has asked to broadcast into a private boat in the middle of the Caribbean yet either. The trick is which option of delivery and what level of backup redundancy you want. We can walk you through all these options. If you can watch a Youtube video without latency you should be fine.
  • I'm in an association, can my members get a special price?
    In our books, everyone who wants to change the world is special ;) Since we let you control the pricing you charge your special members any price you like. Using our registration system, you can put in different pricing structures that suite your members
  • How can I promote tickets and the website to drive ticket sales? and LEAD will give you access to a back end website that will give you sample emails, posters, brochures all customized with your local speakers, location and brand. These marketing components will have your unique URL that will direct people directly to your unique landing page.
  • When do I get access to my marketing portal, my Eventbrite store front and my Unique registration URL?
    These will all be provisioned to you within 3 days of a signed contract.
  • How do I collect tickets at the event?
    1. People can bring their print-at-home tickets with them. You can scan them from any mobile device (iPhone, Android, etc.) OR
    2. You will have a registration list for your site. You can manually cross people off when they pick up their nametag and hand them a program guide.
  • How do I look to see who has registered for my event?
    As a site administrator you can look into how many people have registered, how many have clicked on your campaigns and compare how you are doing with other sites. This data is all live.
  • Who else is running broadcast sites around me?
    Check back to the site frequently. We will show you all remote sites listed and whom they are targeting as attendees.
  • Is there a way I can talk to & other remote sites about the event?
    Yes, we will organize a monthly teleconference between and various types of sites to track progress, discuss what's working, and provide a platform for any suggestions for what could be improved or changed.


  • If someone wins the award, are they a speaker at the 2018 conference? Or is that separate?
    That is separate, we have 13 speakers contracted to speak at the Live Event. All winners will be published in a 2018 edition of Excellence Essentials with an interview article & photo, and they will be featured on our Leadership Youtube Channel. Winners will also be listed in the printed February edition of Leadership Excellence.
  • How long are the speakers going to be speaking for and how many are there going to be?
    There will be 13 speakers and they are going to be speaking for 22 minutes.

  • If someone wins the award, are they a speaker at the 2018 conference? Or is that separate?
    That is separate, we have 13 speakers contracted to speak at the Live Event. All winners will be published in a 2018 edition of Excellence Essentials with an interview article & photo, and they will be featured on our Leadership Youtube Channel. Winners will also be listed in the printed February edition of Leadership Excellence.
  • Are winners picked on the number of people who respond?
    You are encouraged to get as much feedback as possible. We recognize that each program and organization is unique in terms of size and number of clients. That will be considered upon review. We suggest ensuring at least 20 feedback responses are completed.
  • Will we find out the winners before the live event?
    No, you won't find out who the winners are until the live event but you will find out if you are in the top 10 after the voting period ends on December 10th.
